One of the great things about Eleventy is its flexibility and its lack of assumptions about how your projects should be organized. However, in order to preserve my own sanity, I needed to come up with a default files and folders architecture that made sense to me.

In this post I'll outline 8 image loading optimization techniques to minimize both the bandwidth used for loading images on the web and the CPU usage for image display.

Not having to use a JavaScript framework also meant that HTML, not JSX or Vue components, is now front and center in the code you write. This helped me avoid the usual traps when writing React: the infamous div soup, inaccessible components, or non-semantic tags.
